What are the SDGs and why use them?

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the set of 17 goals agreed by 193 countries covering all the major impact areas we need to focus on. They are a universally recognised framework that allow governments, businesses, medias and civil society to share the same language and agree on a common set of targets to protect the planet and improve society.

At Impaakt, we use the SDGs as an analytical framework to help our contributors structure their work, and our clients compare the impact of different companies according to well-defined, standardized themes.
